The holding’s enterprises mine coal, produce rail cars, provide railway cargo carriage, produce heat and electric power, electric motors, mine equipment, chemical industry equipment, grain, meat, milk, souvenir and promotional products and hundreds of others goods and services. By January 2011, the company united 38,300 enterprises’ employees of the Kemerovo Region, Altai Region, and some other Regions of Russia.

SBU’s corporate management of enterprises is performed through the sector holdings: Holding Company "SBU-Coal", Holding Company "SBU-Engineering", Holding Company "Novotrans", Holding Company "SBU-Construction", Holding Company "SBUAgro", Holding Company "SBU-Alco", Holding Company "SBU-Media", Holding Company “SBU-Energy”.

The SBU Holding contributes to the strengthening of the political stability in its regional presence, by annually entering the socio-economic agreement with the Kemerovo Region and Altai Territory administrations.
