SBU Social Policy is aimed to improve the living standards of the Holding Company’s workers and veterans, to decide problems of cities and villages in which SBU enterprises are located.

SBU employees
and their children undergo treatment and rest by the subsidized sanatoria and holiday-home passes in the company’s private board houses and children’s health centers. Employees can also acquire new apartments from “SBU-Finance” at a 5% discount.

SBU veteran organization unites over 15 thousand retirees. The Holding Company supplies the veterans with free coals, sanatoria and rest homes vouchers. $ 11 million are assigned to finance benefits and other compensation of the Company’s workers and retirees. SBU organizes annual youth competition “The Excitement”. “The Career” and “The Creative Work” nominations’ winners receive a job placement invitation with the Holding Company. Each year enterprises’ youth teams take part in CFI, where young families can participate in the “The Most Friendly Family” competition. The employees’ children win various awards in the creative work competition “The SBU Seven Wonders”.

SBU has founded scholarships for students of Kemerovo State University and KuzSTU. It funds the Labor Collectives Olympics Organization, and their athletes’ participation in various sport events.

SBU invests in the company’s enterprises’ workers and retirees social support, Regional and State social programs in the Kemerovo Region.

Annually, SBU concludes “The Agreements on the Socio-Economic Collaboration” with the Kemerovo Region and Altai Region Administrations. In particular, 153 200 tons of coals were delivered by the agreed price for the Kuzbass HPU needs, $ 3,84 million were transferred for the implementation of the provincial social programs, over $ 14,7 million – to support education, health, and culture State Programs by SBU in 2010.

SBU Holding Company’s investments in various social programs have already been estimated at over $ 130 million.
