Judo
SBU President Mikhail Y. Fedyaev was elected as the President of Kemerovo Judo Federation and European Judo Foundation.
SBU became a General Sponsor of the European Judo Championship, which took place in Austrian capital Vienna in April, 2010. Russian national team won two gold, two silvers and a bronze medals there, finishing in second place among 44 teams.
With SBU support more coaches and athletes in Kemerovo Region have the opportunity to participate in the representative competitions and, hence, to acquire tournament experience and to improve their skills. Three athletes from Kuzbass are the members of different Russian Judo National Teams.
Kemerovo Judo Federation consistently implements judo development programs in the Region cities, which include reconstruction of sports gyms for crating excellent training environments. With SBU support, 600 boys and girls in Kemerovo are able to be involved in the Junior Judo Federation.
Volleyball Club “Kuzbass”
The professional Kuzbass Volleyball Club was created in May of 2008. Among VC Kuzbass Founders are: SBU Holding Company, SBU-Coal, SBU-Engineering, Novotrans, SBU-Energy.
The initiative for the Club establishment was supported by the Kemerovo Governor Aman Gumirovich Tuleyev and the Russian Volleyball Federation. The First Deputy of the Governor Valentin P. Mazikin was elected as the Club President. Denis A. Matussevich was appointed as the Club Executive Director.
Kuzbass Volleyball Club won the third place in the Russian Championship Premier League “A” in 2008/09 season with its Head Coach A. Voronkov.
Then, in 2009/10 season, Kuzbass Club took the second place in the Premier League “A” (Head Coach - D. Fomin) and won the right to participate in the Russian Championship Super League. Club’s opponents in the Super League in the 2010/11 season are the strongest teams in Russia: ‘Zenit-Kazan” (Kazan), “Locomotiv-Belogorye (Belgorod), “Dinamo” (Moscow) “Lokomotiv” (Novossibirsk), “Fakel” (Novy Urengoy), “Iskra” (Odintsovo), “Gas-prom-Urga (Surgut District), “Jaroslawich” (Yaroslavl), “Ural” (Ufa), “Dinamo-Yantar” (Kaliningrad) and “Dynamo” (Krasnodar).
Kuzbass Club founders funded the best available training for its team for the Russian championship. Bjorn Andrae, Germany’s national team captain, and olympic champion David Lee, the USA national team member. On 21th of January 2011 new Volleyball Sports Center “Arena” with total capacity of 2000 spectators was opened in the Central District of Kemerovo. The investment of SBU into the construction of the Sports Center is $ 7,3 million. In honor of the opening of “Arena” on 21-22 of January in the new Sports Center took placethe All-Russian sports event — the “All Stars” of the male Russian Championship Super League.

The Regional Universal Sports Center “Lazurniy”
The Regional Universal Sports Center “Lazurniy” includes a swimming and tennis centers. The swimming center was opened in December of 2005. After its reconstruction the Olympic standard pool
size increased to 50x21 with a modern water purification system, timekeeping and grandstands that meet the requirements of the international competition standards. Also, there is a modern gym, a fitness room, a beauty shop, an esthetic cosmetology center, and a Cafe Laguna.
The newly constructed tennis center was opened in February of 2007. There are four full-size tennis courts with the most advanced surface, comfortable separable showers and changing rooms for visitors. The tennis center has an area of 3,200 square meters. In 2010 the RUSC “Lazurniy” sportsmen were among the winners of international and national tennis championships.
120 spaces for car parking are provided for the RUSC “Lazurniy” visitors.
“Tanay”
The Regional Recreation & Health Center “Tanay” was built at Taiga forests. It is in Kemerovo and Novosibirsk Regions’ border. SBU investments in the modern complex’s construction and development were estimated at over $ 73 million.
The first mountain lift was opened in Tanay Ski Resort in February of 2007. There are now seven tracks of three different difficulty levels working from November to April. Track No.5 conforms to international standards and is equipped by the sports timekeeping “Omega”. There is a modern snow park and a special trail for snow tubing. There are 4-seat chair lifts, 5 T-bar lifts, as well as conveyor lift to the practice ground.
There is free parking for 2 000 vehicles, two service centers providing inventory and equipment rental, and masters and training instruction services. There is an open ice rink, and tracks for snowmobiles/ cross-country skiing. A parachute center was also built, where everyone can experience parachute jumping from 4 000 meters high.
The Wildlife Park is located on the center’s territory, where guests can look at such animals as bears, wolves, foxes, elk, ostriches, wild boars, lynxes, badgers, camels, reindeer, etc.
Comfortable accommodation is provided by two leisure hotels, chalets and cottages for 600 people. 6 bars, 3 restaurants, a billiard room, a gym, a conference room, a night club that operates on the secured center’s territory. A SPA-center, a solarium, a sauna, and a swimming pool are offered to the clients, manicure and pedicure services are also provided. During winter time, number of tourists in Tanay Centre reaches 2,500 people per weekend.

Champions
Sport Champions are the pride of the “Siberian Business Union”
Motivated, hardworking and talented athletes achieve the highest levels in athletics with SBU financial support, praising Kuzbass and Russia.
Andrey Freyze, a Kemerovo resident, is the European Champion and five times Champion of Russia in billiards.
Igor Kharitonov, 16-year-old Prokopyevsk resident, trains a lot and grows before our eyes. The young sportsman couldn’t find any opponent of his level in Russia for four years (National Champion 2007-2010) and won the championship belt twice at the European championships (2008 and 2010).
Oleg Gagin, Sports World Class Power-lifting Master, is employed as the Deputy Security Director position in the coal strip mine “Chernigovets”. He is the three-time Russian champion and the silver prizewinner in the World Championships in India.
SBU Children Bandy Team won “The Kuzbass Cup” International Tournament and became the strongest team among 16 teams from Siberia, the Urals and the CIS in Autumn of 2010. The team’s goal now is to win in the Russian Championship.
The hockey team of Chernigovets coal strip mine is Russian Champion, and three-time Kuzbass Bandy Champions.
SBU Volleyball Team is two-time Kuzbass Champions (2009-2010).
